Michelle Obama, 62, shocked fans with her youthful appearance as she posed alongside her daughters Malia Obama, 28, and Sasha Obama, 25, in a new Instagram post.
Taking to the social media platform on Saturday, Michelle posted a sweet video with her daughters in honor of Malia turning 28 on July 4.
Michelle, who posed in a Nantucket-red bucket hat and brown pants, flaunted her stunning complexion, and many felt she looked like the girls’ sister rather than their mother.
Michelle finished off her look with a tan tank top and cropped, dark-wash jean jacket.
Malia stood in the middle, smiling from ear-to-ear next to her family, looking cool in a pair of baggy, light-wash jeans and a white bubble-textured cropped tee.
Sasha stood at the end, as she danced around in a white dress, holding up a rock ‘n roll sign.
‘Happy birthday, Malia! You bring so much light and energy into the world with everything you do. Your dad and I are so proud of the woman you’ve become,’ Michelle wrote in the caption of the adorable clip.
In the comments section, many couldn’t believe how much Michelle looked like her young daughters.
‘First Lady looking like one of the girls! Happy birthday Malia,’ one person wrote.
‘Michelle is looking like the big sister,’ another user commented.
‘Michelle looking like a big sister! I love this! Happy birthday Malia,’ gushed someone else.
‘Michelle looking like the sister and not the mother,’ agreed a different fan .
‘I’m looking at video saying, “Okay, who is who?”‘ read a fifth comment.
A sixth said: ‘I couldn’t find Michelle she looks like the third sister.’
‘Love you guys – thought your mama was one of your girlfriends – living her best life out of the white house!’ another person chimed in.
To the former First Lady’s visible frustration, she admitted that her daughters are not fully caught up on the current season.
‘That’s mother-daughter time, you know. And they’re behind, they got me hooked,’ she revealed during a chat with actress Quinta Brunson on her podcast Higher Ground.
‘And I was like, “Have you started the next season?” And they were like, “No! We’re busy!”‘
‘You need to get some more free time!’ she added.

In the years since leaving The White House, Malia graduated from Harvard and pursued a career in Hollywood.
Her directorial debut, The Heart, was released in 2024.
Sasha, meanwhile, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023.
Michelle shares daughters Sasha and Malia with her husband Barack Obama, the former president of the United States.
While appearing on an episode of Alex Cooper’s hit podcast, Call Her Daddy, in January, Michelle shared the one question that she would never ask her daughters as she warned other moms about how dangerous it could be.
The author explained that she often feels the urge to ask them: ‘Are you dating anyone?’
However, she explained that she feels the inquiry sends a ‘subliminal message’ to young women and adds ‘pressure’ on them to find a partner.
‘I have two beautiful daughters. And, you know, you find yourself slipping up and going, ‘Are you dating anyone?” she explained.
‘But it’s like, let me not make that the first question or the second question, or a question at all.’
