The gorgeous ‘Daisy Duke’ is unrecognizable these days – her legs were once insured for a million dollars

On Friday nights in 1979, I was glued to CBS, especially when “The Dukes of Hazzard” came on. As a young boy, I was captivated by Daisy Duke, a character played by the stunning Catherine Bach. I think every guy who grew up in the late ’70s had a crush on her.

Catherine Bach, who is now 68, played Daisy Duke with such charisma that she left an indelible mark on pop culture. Even today, the term “Daisy Dukes” is synonymous with cut-off denim shorts, a fashion trend she popularized.

Catherine was more than just a pretty face; she had the integrity, knowledge, and courage to shape her character. For instance, when producers wanted her to wear a tight white turtleneck, go-go boots, and a poodle skirt, she insisted on creating her own outfit instead. The rest is history.

Catherine was born in Warren, Ohio, in 1954. After her parents divorced, she split her time between her father’s ranch in South Dakota and her mother in California. It was during her summers in California that she fell in love with acting.

Determined to make it in Hollywood, she moved there right after high school, eventually landing the role of Daisy Duke.

The show was an instant hit, and Catherine’s portrayal of Daisy made her one of the most famous faces on television. Daisy was loved by many, not just for her looks but for her independent and strong-willed character.

After “The Dukes of Hazzard” ended in 1985, Catherine’s career slowed down, although she found success in other roles, such as Margo Dutton in “African Skies” and Anita Lawson in “The Young and the Restless.”

Sadly, tragedy struck in 2010 when her husband, Peter Lopez, took his own life. The loss was devastating for Catherine, but she found strength in her faith and focused on raising her daughters, Laura Esmerelda and Sophia Isabella.

In 2023, nearly 40 years after “The Dukes of Hazzard” ended, Catherine is still a beautiful woman with a radiant smile. She has aged gracefully and continues to be a beloved figure. Legends like Catherine may age with time, but their impact remains timeless. Catherine will always be the true Daisy Duke, ageless in our eyes. Much love and God bless, Catherine!
