Elton John announced his official retirement from touring after more than 50 years on the road.

At the last stop of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena hosted the well-known artist’s farewell performance on Saturday.

“I can’t express how amazing my career has been. How lucky am I to have been able to perform music for fifty-two years? As he concluded his performance with “Your Song” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” John, 76, informed the crowd.

However, you understand that I wouldn’t be here conversing with you if it weren’t for you. You have purchased my albums, singles, CDs, and cassettes, but more significantly, you have purchased concert tickets, and you are aware of my passion for live performances.

The five-time Grammy winner acknowledged his supporters for their unwavering support over the course of more than 50 years after the performance.

“My supporters have stood by me at every turn.” Consequence reported that in a post-show statement, he said, “They’ve been there for me at every event, they’ve been patient, and they’ve stayed with me.”

“What a lovely night it has been tonight. I’m still getting my bearings, but I don’t think it will be long till I’m through touring. I can never express how much I will miss the fans or how much their devotion has humbled me; it will always hold a special place in my heart.

The vocalist of “Tiny Dancer” once received a unique letter from Chris Martin, who was also touring Sweden with his band, Coldplay.

Part of what Martin, 46, said was, “Elton, we just wanna say, from all of us here, from all the bands and artists that you’ve loved, inspired, and helped, we just love you so much.” “You have our undying love. We will really miss you and wish you a happy retirement, buddy.

Before the much awaited occasion, John, who has been traveling since 1970, posted a moving message on Instagram earlier on Saturday.

He commented, “What a journey this tour has been, and now we find ourselves at its end.” “This is the last night.”

Although John is no longer on the road, he and his management have stated that in the upcoming years, fans may still expect to see him perform.

David Furnish, John’s manager and spouse, told Billboard in November of last year that “it’s essential to distinguish between Elton retiring from touring and Elton not performing his very last public performance for the very last time.”

“I am aware that he will not be doing any kind of tour. You can expect a magnificent one-time event or a brief stay in one location for a restricted period of time.
