The end of his marriage and the legal battle are the main subjects of a new book, with Johnny Depp set to be the star attraction on the opening night of this month’s Cannes Film Festival. But then, what about Amber Heard? The actress since found guilty of defaming her ex-husband has been absent from the spotlight.
In a new event, Alison Boshoff of DailyMail claimed Amber Heard has quit Hollywood and quietly relocated to Spain without her new GF but with her young daughter Oonagh.
A source close to Heard told the reporter, ‘She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.” Last July, the Aquaman star reportedly sold her Yucca Valley, California residence for $1.1 million, double the amount she purchased it for. Then, in October, she was seen on a beach in Majorca with her partner, Eve Barlow.
The source further said, ‘‘I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right for the right project.’
Since concluding filming for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom in 2021 and In The Fire, Heard has not pursued any work opportunities. Accordingly, it remains undisclosed if the actress is romantically still linked with Eve Barlow, a writer in Los Angeles. In December, Barlow wrote an essay on Substack in which she appeared to suggest that they had parted ways, discussing her quest for optimism at the end of a year that had altered her life.
Barlow added at the time: ‘Today I was reminded of a beautiful passage from a Khalil Gibran poem about why strength has to be renourished and revitalized in ourselves, often alone.’
However, Depp has been vacationing with Sandra, the widow of his late friend Jeff Beck, and Wendy, Joss Stone’s mother, on his private island, Little Parrot Cay in the Bahamas. He is confirmed to perform at a Jeff Beck charity event supporting animal charities at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 22 and 23. Later in the summer, he will direct a film about artist Modigliani, and then a tour with his band, The Hollywood Vampires.
