Beyoncé made headlines when she disclosed she was expecting twins only months after releasing her new solo studio album, Lemonade. Rumi and Sir Carter were born a few months later, on June 13, and are now 5 years old! Beyoncé and Jay-Z have a 9-year-old daughter named Blue Ivy. Jay-Z disclosed the meanings of the children’s names in a 2017 interview with Rap Radar.
He explained, “Rumi is our favourite poet, therefore it was for our daughter.” “Sir said, ‘Man, go out of the gate.’ He has a certain demeanour about him. “Sir, he simply appeared out of nowhere.”
The Carter family is private, although they’ve revealed photographs and film of their children during significant events, including as Beyoncé’s 2018 Halloween celebrations, photos of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s marriage vow renewal, and an Ivy Park ad from 2021. The artist and businesswoman talked about parenthood and staying present in a 2019 Elle cover story. “I think managing work and life is the most challenging thing for me,” she remarked.
In July 2017, Beyoncé released the first public images of Rumi and Sir. In the post, she also disclosed their identities. She shared a gorgeous snapshot of the babies on her official website in the summer of 2018. Queen Bey tweeted a photo of her youngest children relishing the sunset at the beach in December 2018.
Beyoncé replicated a shot of actress Lisa Bonet cuddling Zoe Kravitz for Halloween in 2019. Bey began 2021 by recapping the previous year, which saw Rumi and Sir rolling about with each other.
