The ‘We Found Love Singer’ left heads turning with her edgy maternity style amid a late date night in NYC with A$AP Rocky. Due to her bold approach to maternity wear, which started with her first pregnancy, Rihanna has earned praise from her fans and fashion critics. The singer revealed her second pregnancy at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show on February 12, alongside her rapper partner, with whom they welcomed their first child, Noah Mayers, 11 months ago.
For the date night, the 35-year-old didn’t hesitate to bare her belly, wearing a mesh bralet over a more traditional white maternity bra.
The outing comes as Rihanna opened up about experiencing a lot of nausea but no cravings with her present pregnancy. The Diamonds singer told Entertainment Tonight: ‘It’s so different from the first one. No cravings. Tons of nausea.’ Everything’s different, but I’m enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.’ RiRi and Rocky welcomed their baby boy into the world in May 2022, and the singer claimed she’s ‘obsessed’ with her son.
Speaking of her son, Rihanna told the publication, ‘I’m in love. I’m obsessed, and I don’t even feel guilty about it. A$AP Rocky also said, ‘[He’s] growing big.” Beautiful, happy baby.’
Previously, Rihanna had revealed that choosing outfits during her first pregnancy was a ‘piece of cake’, but then the Work singer struggled with her style choices in the first weeks after her son was born. She explained, ‘Dressing for pregnancy was such a piece of cake.” But dressing in postpartum, what the f*** do you do? The week that I came home from the hospital, that was nothing but sweats and hoodies. But in the weeks after that, you don’t know what to put on. Everything is too small or too big.’
Rihanna further stated, ‘You kind of just gotta wait it out; otherwise you end up buying so many clothes you’re not going to use. Well, unless you get pregnant again.’
However, at the 2023 Met Gala, the couple expressed their love, and Rihanna’s attire paid tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld. She wore a stunning white Valentino gown with a silk cape, featuring 30 camellias, 500 petals, and 25 leaves, which took 30 seamstresses to make and measured 16 feet in length. She completed the look with white sunglasses and eyelashes. A$AP Rocky wore a black suit jacket and kilt over jeans, with a single black leather glove and shades.
