After discovering what NPR Tiny Desk Concert is, rapper Juvenile has reportedly secured his own episode!
Last week, a fan-led Twitter campaign aimed to persuade the 48-year-old rapper to participate in the well-known concert series. It all started when a supporter tweeted NPR, urging them to include the rapper in their lineup. Juvenile confusingly responded to the tweet saying, “Wtf is a tiny desk and no.”
Nevertheless, fans took the opportunity to educate the rapper about the series, where distinguished musicians like Megan Thee Stallion, Sting, and Usher have presented their performances at the desk of host Bob Boilen in Washington, DC.
Once Juvenile learned about the show, he quickly retracted his statement and claimed he’d “RECONSIDER doing @NPR Tiny Desk” if he received 10,000 retweets. Of course, it didn’t take long for fans to accept the challenge and he actually received 11,000 retweets.
That same day, Juvenile shared that he had “locked in” with NPR for a Tiny Desk episode but did not disclose any details about the upcoming performance.
“The People Have Spoken!!!! 10k!! and @NPR locked it in,” the ‘Slow Motion’ rapper tweeted. “I appreciate the luv and I’m gonna put on a one of a kind show for y’all on #TinyDesk.”
