Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe have been together for a long time now. The pair began dating in the early 2000s before tying the knot in 2005. Despite being one of the most respected and admired couples in Hollywood, Parker admits that she still wishes they were “dating.”
In a discussion during the quarantine, Nicole and Boris had dinner over face time with another couple. In the clip that circulated, Nicole admits that her marriage is devoid of the things her husband used to do with her when they dated. She admits to wishing their relationship felt more flirty and spontaneous. “I wish that he was my boyfriend again. I don’t necessarily want to be single, but I miss the single life. I miss the text messages for no reason. I miss the coming up from behind me when I’m scrambling eggs and just kissing me on the back of the neck.”
Boris continued to eat his food and looked over at his wife while the other couple watched attentively. The man interrupts Nicole to say, “I still do that, Boris,” to which Boris replies, “ok” with a cracker in his mouth. The couple awkwardly tried to move the conversation as the man looked over to his wife, and Nicole tried to downplay her frustrations. “I’m being general here, but I’m just saying that the trappings of being single…ok.”
Nicole stopped and tried to compare how she was feeling to the feeling when people flirted with them. She says that the relationship lacks freshness and newness, and those things are essential for their love to go the distance. She uses date night as an example and says that they do not make it out to dinner as often as they should. “We talk about kissing and texting for no reason, but last time you text me was over the cabinet guy.”
Fans in the comments were not here for Nicole disrespecting Boris on live like that right in front of him. “Boris is clearly unfazed, and she’s clearly miserable. Let it go! She also seems very annoying. The love is dormant at this time. Work it out if it’s worth it,” said one person.
