The birthday bash had everything from Pizza, frozen cake, and even a soft play area, yet Breana Strong’s daughter was forced to celebrate her third birthday alone after none of the invited twenty-seven children showed up. The party also featured giant slides, ball pits, and lots of party food.
Breana expressed her devastation on TikTok, admitting ‘not a single one of her friends showed up and showed the empty party room.
She added: “I wish I was making this up.” A quick snapshot further showed her daughter Avery sitting all alone, eating a slice of Pizza. Accordingly, Breana filmed herself throwing a Pizza box in the bin. An overlaid text read: “Money and time wasted. Breaks my momma heart so bad. Literally going to go home and snuggle my babies.”
In the comments, Breana explained she’d sent out invites on Facebook, and seven families said they were coming to the party.
But on the morning of, three changed their RSVP, and others simply just failed to show up. Thankfully, little Avery, according to Breana, wasn’t upset about the failed birthday party as she got everything she wanted – Pizza, Frozen Cake, and Jungle Gym. “She didn’t know any different rather than having fun. Just shattered my heart,” Breana stated.
The clip has so far prompted support for the mom-daughter with some sharing similar experiences.
“This happened for my son’s 8th birthday and I lied and I told him it was my fault so he wouldn’t feel bad,” Someone wrote, to which Breana replied: “it’s not fair. My heart literally hurts.” Another added: “This happened to me on my 16th bday. Never had tried again until I was like 26 and it happened again. I’m 39, now I always treat myself to a spa day.”
Someone else commented: “We don’t do parties anymore. All the money we would have spent on it goes to what the birthday kid wants.”
A fourth continued: “This is a rule at my house. If we are invited, we’re GOING! We have been the only one that shows up. So sad this happens I’m so sorry.” Some people insisted they’ve sworn off throwing parties for good with one saying: “I honestly think people just don’t attend bday parties anymore.” Others said they prefer to do other birthday activities instead to avoid being left heartbroken.
