In March 2020, Porsche returned to the doctors after feeling short of breath and had two phone consultations before being prescribed antibiotics. When her condition worsened, the GP thought she had COVID and was brought into Westlands Medical Centre for a consultation. On April 14, 2020, she was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital, where she was officially diagnosed with cervical cancer and passed away a day later.

Porsche’s case and experience have led a coroner to suggest national guidelines which say women suspected of having the disease need to wait two weeks before being seen by a specialist might have contributed to her death. “You didn’t do the most basic thing – give her an internal examination.
