Melania Trump wasn’t in attendance at Daytona over the weekend (16 February)
Melania Trump has sparked fresh concern on her whereabouts after Donald Trump’s latest public appearance.
People were quick to clock that Melania has been noticeably absent since the inauguration ceremonies took place nearly a month ago now (20 January).
Trump, on the other hand, has been holding a number of press conferences, signing off a flurry of executive orders, and even attending the Super Bowl a few weeks back (9 February).
The 54-year-old First Lady has been missing from several public events, with the latest being NASCAR’s Daytona 500 over the weekend on Sunday (16 February).
rump headed to Florida to watch the ‘Great American Race’, but as he exited his plane, Melania was nowhere to be seen – something which hasn’t gone unnoticed by people online, with many taking to social media to share their confusion.

One X user penned: “Doesn’t it seem odd to you that Melania is basically MIA? I miss seeing her with him… Also…hope she’s okay.”
Another Trump supporter piped up: “Where’s Melania?? Don’t get me wrong, we all love that the Big Boss is going there, showing up for the people but we really want to see the First Lady next to him. The World’s Power Couple.”
“Was hoping to see Melania on this trip,” echoed a third.
Trump previously took to social media himself to share a statement ahead of his Daytona 500 appearance.
“Today, I look forward to joining tens of thousands of American Patriots in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Great American Race – the legendary Daytona 500 – and the official start to the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series,” he wrote.
The 78-year-old Republican leader continued: “This iconic race showcases the fastest, most fearless drivers in motorsports, who represent our Nation’s love of tradition, competition, and automotive innovation. The Daytona 500 brings together people from all walks of life – from lifelong racing fans to first-time spectators—they all join in celebrating a shared passion for speed, adrenaline, and the thrill of the race.
“From the roar of the engines on the track to the echo of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ soaring through the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to the speed, strength, and unyielding spirit that make America great. That spirit is what will fuel America’s Golden Age, and if we harness it, the future is truly ours.”
Trump signed off the message from both himself and Melania – despite the fact she wasn’t in attendance.
“Melania and I send our best wishes for a safe and successful race. May God bless our Armed Forces, and may He continue to bless the United States of America,” he rounded off.
Ever since Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th US president last month, he’s been holding a number of press conferences, signing off executive orders and even attending the Super Bowl.
But the same can’t be said for his wife, Melania Trump, who has been noticeably absent since the inauguration celebrations took place a few weeks ago.
For example, Melania has been missing from several White House events, including when Trump met with a number of world leaders such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and King Abdullah of Jordan.
She was also allegedly absent from a dinner Trump hosted in Mar-a-Lago for the Republican senators and their spouses.
Meanwhile, over on the @flotus Instagram account and the one and only post is Melania’s official first lady portrait which was shared last month.
The photo in question, snapped the day after Trump was sworn in, was taken by photographer Régine Mahaux, who has been working with the Trump family for over 20 years.
Fans have been desperate to know where Melania is, with one person writing on Twitter: “Does anyone know where Melania is now? She was right by his side & now she’s gone. I miss her being here!”
While another said: “Where is Melania? It’s been quite some time since she’s been in public.”
Meanwhile, a third commented: “Does anybody know where Melania is?”
While it’s not clear for sure what Melania has been up to, it’s thought she’s been spending time in New York, where son Barron Trump is attending New York University’s Stern School of Business.
The first lady has previously spoken about how present she’ll be in Trump’s second term.
“I already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in,” she told Fox News.
“I will be in the White House and when I need to be in New York, I’ll be in New York and when I need to be in Palm Beach, I’ll be in Palm Beach.
“My first priority is to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on January 20th, you serve the country.”
Melania may also be busy with her own projects, too.
Earlier this year, it was reported that she’d bagged a documentary deal with Amazon which will tell her life story – from her childhood in Slovenia, her modelling career, and her marriage to Trump.
Having being filmed in 2024 and due to be released in the second half of 2025, Melania will be an executive producer alongside Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media and Brett Ratner of RatPac Entertainment, who will be the director.
“Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalised,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement.
“We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”
