Lizzo has shared a body-positive message with her followers as she embraced her own beauty in a new video.
The singer, 34, took to Instagram in her dressing gown, with her hair in loose waves around her shoulders as she shared her affirmation with her followers.
Balancing her phone on what appeared to be her bathroom sink, Lizzo told them: “I just finished showering and doing my little routine, and you know what I realized – I am f**king gorgeous.
She captioned the sassy post: “I’m sorry that my perfect face & rockin body offends you… I can’t help that I’m God’s favorite.”
Fans were quick to praise the singer for sending such an important message about loving the skin you’re in, commenting: “Keep up the body positivity!! You are legit gorgeous and have the most beautiful skin I have ever seen. Your face glows without makeup, it’s miraculous!! Your positivity will always win against their negativity.”
Others wrote: “damn straight! We all need to be more like Lizzo. I AM THE BEAUTY STANDARD!”, “LET THE PEOPLE KNOWWW!!!!!!”, and “You really are the standard queen!!”
Lizzo has always used her platform to champion body positivity and to call out the “tired” discourse around what the media deems beauty standards to be.
The Yitty founder also previously told Vogue back in 2020: “I think it’s lazy for me to just say I’m body positive at this point. It’s easy. I would like to be body-normative.
“I want to normalize my body. And not just be like, ‘Ooh, look at this cool movement. Being fat is body positive.’ No, being fat is normal.”
She continued: “I think now, I owe it to the people who started this to not just stop here. We have to make people uncomfortable again, so that we can continue to change. Change is always uncomfortable, right?”
