Lady Gaga Praised For Getting Down On The Floor To Help SZA With Her Dress Despite Losing A Grammy To Her

Moments from last week’s Academy Awards might have been overshadowed by Will Smith’s smack on comedian Chris Rock, but then there seem also to be some occurrences from the recently held Grammy Awards that will melt your heart or perhaps restore your faith in humanity.

One of which was Lady Gaga’s attitude towards SZA.

The singer’s gracious spirit has impressed many people after she was seen getting down on the floor to help SZA with her dress as she made her way onstage to accept her Grammy on Sunday night. With SZA and Doja Cat beating out Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga for the Best Pop Duo/Performance award, Gaga showed no hard feelings and ensured her colleague appeared perfect onstage.

Walking the stage with crutches, SZA had rocked a stunning dress with a long tulle train, which had tangled as she navigated her way onto the stage.

Observing the issue as she applauded both SZA and Doja Cat for their victory, Gaga didn’t hold back as she went down in her gorgeous gown and fixed the problem. Gaga carefully picked up the train and gently carried it until SZA was closer to the stage, where she then softly let go of the fabric, and indeed, it fell into place correctly.

People who observed the gesture applauded Gaga for being kindhearted and thoughtful towards SZA.

One person wrote: “Idc what y’all say, but gaga was too sweet for being the only one helping SZA.”

Another said: “Lady Gaga getting SZA’s train of her dress was a vibe. Love to see women lookin out for women.”

Someone asked: “Between Lady Gaga’s compassion for Liza Minelli at the Oscars, her Grammy tribute to Tony Bennett and then helping SZA with her dress to get on stage (in crutches), how are we not honoring her kindness more?”

A third tweeted: “LADY GAGA HELPING SZA ON STAGE, Women supporting women.”

While a fourth added: “Doja and SZA getting up there together being so awesome together while Gaga helped SZA’S dress. I mean: Women are truly thriving and supporting each other out there.”

While she didn’t win the Grammy for her and Tony Bennett’s duet of “I Get a Kick Out of You,” Gaga performed two of their songs. Tony was unable to join her onstage for the performance due to his continuing struggle with Alzheimer’s, but he did introduce Gaga with a prerecorded message, and she was sure to give a moving tribute to her friend.

Gaga performed “DO I LOVE YOU and LOVE FOR SALE from her and Tony’s jazz LP.

And just as hit the final note, she seemingly fought back the tears as she waved at the camera and said, “We love you, Tony. We miss you.”

Tony [pictured with Gaga] retired from performing in 2021, and his son, Danny Bennett, previously confirmed while his dad was invited to perform at the Grammys this year, he would not be able to attend. Eventually, Gaga and Tony took home the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album award.

The win made Tony, 95, one of the oldest Grammy winners.

And second only to Pinetop Perkins, who won the Best Traditional Blues Album Grammy in 2011 at age 97.

However, this comes after Gaga had made a sweet onstage appearance with Liza Minelli, 76, as they announced this year’s Best Picture winner at the Oscars. She had been praised for supporting the Hollywood legend, who has retreated from the spotlight without being awkward.

As she made a rare public appearance, Liza had appeared to be unsure of what she was supposed to do.

But then, Gaga held her hand during their segment and allowed Liza to have her moment in the spotlight.
