An influencer has been left fighting for her life after suffering an aneurysm a week before her due date.
Lifestyle and beauty guru Jackie Miller James has been put into a medically induced coma following a sudden brain aneurysm and severe bleeding while she was nine months pregnant.
According to the GoFundMe page set up by her sisters Nicole and Nicelle Miller, the 35-year-old was found unresponsive by her husband Austin at their home in California.
The Mayo Clinic reports that a brain aneurysm can be “life-threatening” and “requires medical treatment right away.”
“Brain aneurysms are caused by thinning artery walls,” the medical outlet wrote. “Most brain aneurysms don’t rupture. They usually don’t cause symptoms or cause health problems. In many cases, brain aneurysms are found during tests for other conditions. However, a ruptured aneurysm quickly becomes life-threatening and requires medical treatment right away.”
As per the fundraiser, James got to spend some time with her newborn but she was still in an induced coma during the time.
“Jackie’s husband and family have not left her side since the incident. They are navigating taking care of a newborn in the ICU while fighting to keep Jackie alive,” the family wrote.
They also added that “the family has been advised to expect significant outside costs related to speech therapy, physical therapy, home modifications, and alternative therapies once we realize the severity of her deficits. These funds will help Jackie’s long-term recovery and quality of life as a new mother.”
Upon hearing the news, thousands of fans turned to James’ social media accounts to leave kind messages.
“Praying for you and your family Jackie and can’t wait for the day you get to see your beautiful baby girl,” added another.
