A fed-up wife decided to stop doing housework for two days after her husband complained that she “does nothing around the house”.
Mother-of-two Lindsay Donnelly took to her TikTok page to share with viewers that she did a silent protest so that her husband understands the severity of his accusation.
At the beginning of the video, she looks annoyed as the overlay text reads: “My husband made a comment that I do nothing around the house.” Then her expression changes and she smirks at the camera while the text states: “So for two days, I really did nothing around the house.”
The caption of the hilarious clip – which amassed a staggering 13.2 million views and 2.3 million likes – also says: “Then I left town for a girls trip” alongside the comment #MarriageHumour.
Rightfully so, Lindsay’s TikTok garnered a lot of attention on the social media platform. Many users flooded the comment section with their frustrations with her husband, saying that they would divorce him.
A third commented: “Breaks my heart beautiful strong women get treated so poorly.”
A fourth person shared what they would’ve done: “Id literally pick up everything that wasn’t put away or washed or dirty and dump it all on his side of the bedroom and leave it there.”
Meanwhile, other users spoke about her decision to completely stop doing any housework, saying that the mess would drive them crazy.
One user said: “I wanna do this but it would drive ME crazy,” while the second person added: “I tried just leaving a bit of trash on a counter for a couple of days to prove a point. Then absent-mindedly tossed it about 6 hrs later.”
A third said: “Honestly same, my eye would twitch.”
After seeing the response to her viral video, the wife decided to create a follow-up video with her husband. In the clip, the two are sitting beside one another as Lindsay tells him about the TikTok she made.
Her husband eventually apologized to the online community by saying: “Sorry, TikTok.”
