Demi Moore has celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a grandmother!
The 60-year-old acting legend spent the weekend with the newest addition to her family – baby Louetta, who was born to Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis, 34, and boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas on April 18.
Moore shares three daughters – Rumer, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29 – with ex-husband Bruce Willis, 68, with whom she was married from 1987 to 2000.
Despite having been divorced for almost 25 years, the pair remain good friends and often spend family holidays together with Willis’ new wife Emma Heming Willis, 44, and their two daughters.
Often, Moore and Heming Willis give their followers a glimpse into their blended family events – with Moore taking to Instagram over the weekend to post sweet images of herself holding her first grandchild, her embracing daughter Rumer as she gave birth in April, and then an image of herself pregnant with Rumer.
The doting mother and grandmother captioned the three snaps: “Circle of life. Happy Mother’s Day!”
The latest addition to the Moore family was welcomed with open arms and hearts following her April 18 home birth. Rumer and Derek both took to Instagram to post a gorgeous snap of the newborn. In the caption, the couple wrote: “Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. You are pure magic. Born at home on Tuesday, April 18th. You are more than we ever dreamed of.”
The year preceding Louetta’s birth has been challenging for Moore’s and Willis’ blended family, after Willis was diagnosed with aphasia last year, and had to take time out of Hollywood to work on his recovery.
In February this year, the family shared a joint statement explaining that his health issues had worsened, and he had been living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” they added.
