The Ascent of BYU Voice
Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander, two gifted BYU students, had the idea to create a special musical experience in 1991. This led to the formation of BYU Vocal Point, a nine-person acapella ensemble that became well-known on campus right once.
Their first performance was a sellout, and as time went on, their popularity only grew. Notably, they cemented their reputation in the acapella world by placing fifth in the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off. They recently, in December 2018, announced a record agreement with Decca Gold, the classical label owned by Universal Music Group, demonstrating their extraordinary talent and commitment. Jason Bromley, one of the members, says in a humble way, “We’re ordinary college students doing extraordinary things.”
