Body language expert breaks down Billie Eilish’s emotional reaction to Beyoncé winning Grammy as fans spot key moment

A body language expert has a different take on Billie Eilish’s emotional reaction to not winning a Grammy

Billie Eilish’s emotional response to Beyoncé’s Grammy win had everyone gutted for the young star, but the tears were for a completely different reason – according to a body language expert.

Beyoncé remains the most-nominated artist in Grammys history after last night’s (2 February) annual music awards.

But no one was as shocked as the queen herself, when it was announced that she had won Best Country Album Of The Year and Album Of The Year, for her record Cowboy Carter.

Billie Eilish, 23, could also be seen shedding a tear when the winner was announced – as she was also nominated for Album Of The Year.

And while many fans thought that her emotional reaction was because of the heartbreaking loss, a body language expert has actually offered a different interpretation.

Speaking exclusively to Betfair Slots, Darren Stanton said: “In terms of Billie Eilish’s reaction, some people may have thought that she was crying because she didn’t win but I think they were genuine tears of elation and pride that Beyonce had won.”

He added: “For most of the stars of this new younger generation, Beyonce is their icon – the biggest pop star of their childhood.

“Billie obviously has that empathy with Beyonce.”

The expert believed that instead, the tears were of ‘joy’ for Beyoncé that she had finally won the coveted Best Album Grammy.

“You could see in her eyes in the close-up that there were no signs of sadness despite the fact she was crying,” he said.

“It was a clear look of admiration and pride.”

In terms of Beyoncé’s reaction to winning her Grammy, Stanton also thought it came across genuine.

He explained: “I think looking at [Beyoncé’s] reaction from last night it came from a place of genuine shock, surprise and disbelief.

“She was a statue for a second, like a deer in the headlights.”

He added: “Her eyes went wide, her mouth dropped open and she froze.

“These micro-expressions can often suggest fear, but she wasn’t scared, it was more a fleeting flash of emotion that suggests surprise and disbelief.”

Accepting her record-breaking award, the star said: “I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this, this album we worked so hard on… I think sometimes genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about. And to stay persistent.”

Lip reader reveals what Beyoncé actually said during viral moment she realised she’d won Grammy

Beyoncé’s ‘genuine shock’ at winning a Grammy award left fans ‘screaming’

A lip reader has revealed what Beyoncé apparently said during her moment of disbelief after winning a Grammy.

You would think after becoming the most-awarded artist in Grammys history, winning one more wouldn’t be as shocking a deal as it seemingly was.

The star won her 35th Grammy award at last night’s (2 February) annual event for her 2024 albumCowboy Carter.

But her reaction to the win has become a viral moment on social media, as fans really saw the visible shock on her face.

Over on X, one viewer shared: “I’m screaming at Beyoncé’s reaction to winning the Grammy for Best Country Album. queen!!!!!”

Another commented: “That’s a meme right there.”

After accepting the award, Beyoncé told the audience she ‘was not expecting’ to win and explained why she thinks ‘genre’ is a ‘cold word’ that boxes artists in.

“I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this, this album we worked so hard on… I think sometimes genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about. And to stay persistent,” she said.

Despite saying very few words when the winner was announced, a lip reader caught a glimpse of the moment and revealed what Beyoncé apparently said.

According to Jeremy Freeman, the singer said: “Oh my God? I had no idea! What do I …”

The lip reader said that at this point she turned her back but believes the word is ‘say’.

Freeman added: “What do I say? Or ‘do’?”

Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, seemed mad at her mum for a split second as she stayed seated in disbelief.

Freeman added: “She kept her lips almost closed but may have caught a ‘yay…go on’.”

But her reaction wasn’t the only one that caught the attention of viewers.

Kacey Musgraves was also nominated for her album Deeper Well, alongside the likes of Post Malone, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson in the highly sought-after category.

However, she didn’t look too pleased to have lost out on the award.
