At least one person is dead and multiple are injured after a Manhattan parking garage collapsed Tuesday.
Senior FDNY officials said the second floor of a five-story parking garage on Ann Street near Nassau Street collapsed into the first floor at around 4 p.m.
Authorities believe that everyone who may have been trapped inside the structure made it out. However, they are still conducting searches.
“We’re continuing to do searches. There are some cars in there that are crushed. We’re trying to see if we can get up close to make sure there’s nobody in those cars,” John Esposito, the FDNY chief of operations, said.
Officials believe it was a structural collapse.
