Anthony Harris Took Young Girl To Daddy-Daughter Dance After Her Father’s Death

Anthony Harris from Eagles saved a girl’s night dance. Audrey Soape from Texas lost her father and grandfather last year. Without a dad to go with her for her daddy-daughter dance, the family decided to try chatting up Harris from his social media, asking if he was willing to be her partner for the dance.

The family was a long-time fan of Hariss since he was a Minnesota Viking. They often comment to the player to offer their prayers.

You can imagine the 11-year-old’s mom’s reaction when the man said yes. Harris told NBC that was just his attempt “to be a human.” He added, “Trying to take off the helmet, trying to take off the cape of what I do professionally and just show some sympathy for that family and try to show some support there.”

Soape’s mother, Holly, said, “He was so kind and so sweet and just made the entire night so special for her.”

On the other hand, Harris talked about the family’s multiple attempts to reach out and offer their prayers, “It was really just them opening their arms.”

The 30-year-old who’s become part of the Eagles after six years running for Vikings shared about the night, “You gotta cherish these moments. You never know how long we have here on this Earth. So, the people that you care about and you love, show support for them.”

Holly’s mother said,“I was so anxious and excited for her because she just had the most terrible year.”

“For someone to show up and to teach her that people do show up for you, it’s just been beyond a blessing. Just the power of God and how he makes these situations happen has just been unbelievable and remarkable,” she added.
