The beloved TV personality and weatherman, Al Roker, is about to add a new role to his life- that of a grandfather! His oldest daughter, Courtney Roker Laga, 36, announced on Tuesday that she and her husband Wesley Laga are expecting their first child.
The news was shared by Courtney on Instagram, where she posted a sweet picture of herself with her husband holding a onesie that reads “2022.” The caption read, “A new adventure is about to begin ❤️????”.

After a challenging year, this news has brought joy and happiness to Al and his family. Speaking to TODAY.com, Courtney said, “We are extremely excited to welcome a new member into our family and start this next chapter in our lives. We feel truly blessed and excited for our little miracle.”
Al, who shares Courtney with his ex-wife Alice Bell, expressed his excitement in the comments section of Courtney’s post, writing, “Here we go!!! So very, very happy!!!!! You guys. Going for Pop-Pop.” Al’s wife, Deborah Roberts, who is also Courtney’s stepmother, commented, “This is so very exciting!!! ????????”
Although Courtney did not disclose how far along she is in her pregnancy, she did mention that she is “feeling great” and the baby is healthy. This will be Al’s first grandchild, and he is already looking forward to spoiling the little one.

The Roker family has been through a lot in the past year. Al was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2020 and underwent surgery to remove the cancer. However, he returned to work just two weeks later and has been sharing his journey with viewers ever since.
Congratulations to Courtney and Wesley on this new chapter in their lives! And congratulations to Al on becoming a grandfather for the first time! This is an exciting time for the entire Roker family.
