When the tiny dog was in the process of giving birth, she was struck by a car, which led to her being placed in the caring hands of the rescue organisation.
In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the Chihuahua was rushed to the Oregon Trail Veterinary Clinic in order to receive medical attention for the injuries that it had incurred as a result of the collision. Her injuries were so serious that she had to have one of her legs amputated. This is a tragic and unfortunate circumstance.
Not only did the Chihuahua, whose name was Xena, have to deal with the shock of the tragedy, but she also had to confront another difficult obstacle. The fact that her kid was too big to be born naturally necessitated an emergency caesarean section in order to guarantee that both the mother and the puppy would survive the ordeal.
Xena was able to emerge victorious in spite of the odds being piled against her. In an encouraging update that was released by the rescue organisation on Wednesday, it was reported that the Chihuahua mother and her healthy baby boy had both survived the ordeal.
The Fuzz Ball Animal Rescue organisation shared their happiness at the amazing outcome in a statement that was posted on their Facebook page. The fact that both of them are doing so well is just fantastic to witness! This is so incredible that it is a miracle. As the rescue organisation said, “This mother is a fighter, and so is her child.” getting on the streets, getting ran over, being in labour with a dog that was too huge to come out, and then having a c-section and leg amputation while in shock are all things that I have managed to survive. These are the smallest of marvels!
