Based on her client’s personality, their wish, and preferences, Ngoc comes up with a specific design idea that perfectly suits the layout and structure of a scar. And according to the artist, whose customers are adults in their fifties to early nineties, perfection isn’t the goal, the most important thing is to turn one’s flaws into their advantages.
Reportedly, some clients have come and told Ngoc they’ve never thought of getting a tattoo because of the connotations associated with it in the past, but they saw the things she has been doing and so decided to try it out.
Of her customers, the tattoo artist as per Brightside claimed they are all polite and lovely people from all over the country. Ngoc further alleged that she often spends time chatting with them so she can share, learn and listen to their interesting experiences. When asked how her clients react when the tattoos are done, she says it’s very emotional, adding that it feels like a burden had been lifted off their chests and their longtime obsession finally disappeared.
According to Ngoc, most of her clients message her, saying they feel like they are reborn and they no longer carry the feelings of inferiority but instead feel complete, confident, and glowing.
Nevertheless, the journey for Ngoc started in college, when she was trained to be a professional designer. At the time, she felt artistic talent alone wasn’t enough to conceal different types of scars, so she did a lot of research. Ngoc explained that each type of scar has unique characteristics and properties; therefore, it is critical to invest time and effort into research in order to cover the scars as effectively as possible.
Ngoc has been doing this work for almost 10 years, even though there are still prejudices about tattooing in her country.
To date, most people who carry old ideology firmly believe tattooing is not a real job and that it’s associated with social evils. As a result of such thinking, the fear of stepping out of their comfort zone and fighting with themselves, their families, and social prejudices remains inevitable. But regardless, Ngoc is keen on building her business and doing her job much better.
Recently, the artist launched her YouTube channel, Ngoc Like Tattoo, to convey the message of daily self-love by taking care of both the body and mind to the fullest.
The artist also hopes to contribute to the changing view of society toward the career she’s pursuing. Other than that, Ngoc hopes to take business trips to more cities around the world as soon as she can. It’s safe to say that literally all bodies are beautiful, and indeed, we are left in awe by Ngoc’s immense gift of blending tattoos into her clients’ skin.
