A video that sees a pregnant passenger attacking a Spirit Airlines employee has surfaced online. The incident occurred at the boarding gate of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia according to DailyMail, and the video shows Que Maria Scott of Philadelphia, who was six months pregnant, attacking Spirit Airlines employee Jasmine Rhoden.
The footage is from April 30th and it shows the 29-year-old pregnant passenger wearing a grey sweatshirt and pushing Rhoden against a barrier, leading to both of them tumbling and grappling on the floor.
Observers, taken aback by the dispute, yelled for Scott to stop. Next, about four people stepped in to separate Scott, who had pinned Rhoden down. DailyMail also reported that while an initial Twitter post claimed both individuals have been placed on the “no-fly” list, only Scott was added as Rhoden is an airline staff member.
In her statement to the Atlanta Police Department, Rhoden explained that the confrontation started when Scott approached the gate to ask about her flight’s status.
Allegedly, Scott then proceeded to threaten one of the gate agents, prompting an instant call to 911. “Rhoden claimed the pregnant passenger made a statement to other passengers around that, “she will beat a b—h up if she does not get on the plane.” At that moment, Rhoden explained she decided to deny Scott boarding on the flight due to her statement and actions at the gate area.”
According to the report, ‘As the gate agent closed the gate, Scott began “swinging her arms and hitting Ms. Rhoden on the left side of her face.”
Scott then began to pull Rhoden’s hair and pushed her into a barrier, causing them to fall to the ground. The report added, “Ms. Rhoden stated that the female fell on top of her and it took four other passengers to get Ms. Q Scott off her.” In her statement, Rhoden told the police she detected a potent smell of alcohol emanating from Scott. Eventually, the passenger, who claimed to be pregnant during and after the assault, has been taken into custody by law enforcement.
In body camera footage from the Atlanta Police Department, Rhoden could be heard telling officers that Scott “needs to be arrested.”
As Scott is surrounded by officers she yells, “I’m pregnant, I’m pregnant” before officers place her in handcuffs. Also said: “I didn’t do nothing to nobody. You really just got me booked. It’s cool. I’m going to remember your face in my head forever.” However, Scott is currently incarcerated in Clayton County Jail on a $1,500 bond. The police report suggests Scott revealed to officers she was six months pregnant.
