Mark Wahlberg has made the heartbreaking admission that he still listens to voicemails that his mother sent him before she passed away, as he stated that it’s “all I have now”.
Wahlberg, 51, is one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors with credits in movies such as The Fighter, The Departed, and Lone Survivor.
Despite being known for waking up at the crack of dawn to hit the gym and having a strict plan, nothing can prepare somebody for the loss of their mother.

“She touched everybody that she met,” Wahlberg said. “She was truly an inspiration. All I have now is the recordings and the voicemails that she left me, and I listen to them quite often.”
Losing a parent is one of the hardest things that somebody can go through, and the actor has sound advice for anybody whose parents are still alive.
Wahlberg can also see his mother, who passed in April 2021 at the age of 78, in repeats of their family reality show The Wahlburgers.
The star sat down with Extra a year after his mother died and he said: “It was tough. She was very sick, went home to visit her, say goodbye, FaceTiming constantly. We knew that it was inevitable… I just tried to hold on and be as positive as possible.”
Wahlberg moved to Nevada last fall with his family, where he opened his second Wahlburger restaurant on the Vegas strip, as reported by Fox News Digital.

He explained how moving from LA to Nevada gave his family a new lease of life: “It’s really giving the kids a chance to thrive. It just has the best of both worlds. I know a lot of people, when they think Las Vegas, they think the Strip. But just about 15, 20 minutes away, there’s a whole lot of other amazing areas that are all about family and community.”
Wahlberg credits the income tax-free policies of Nevada that promote a better quality of living.
