It hasn’t been a good past few months for the Chrisley family – amid court drama, prison sentences, and now an airline altercation.
Savannah Chrisley took to Instagram to slam Southwest Airlines for accusing her of being an “unruly passenger” after she was involved in an argument with a male flight attendant.
The 25-year-old Chrisley Knows Best star told her followers that she was set to fly from New York back home to Tennessee on Thursday (April 20), however, she was thrown off the flight after an argument about her carry-on bag.
“Alright guys, so I officially know why everyone hates Southwest so much. I mean absolutely hates it – the worst thing in the entire world,” Chrisley said in one of the videos (via Page Six) during which she zooms in on the flight attendant who is at her gate. “This man right here … um, awful. I went to board my flight to get on and he told me that I had to check my bag. I was like, ‘Okay, if you wouldn’t mind, I’m gonna take my bag on the flight, see if I can’t make it fit and if not, I’ll check it.'”
She then added how the airline employee refused her again, apparently calling her an “unruly passenger”. Then, Chrisley said that a pilot came over to offer assistance, telling the flight attendant to “calm down”, adding that he “was going to find a place” for Chrisley’s bag onboard the flight.
“The Southwest attendant literally looked at the pilot – the man who is flying our plane and is responsible for our safety, the most important person in the airline – and said, ‘Stay out of it … ma’am you’re not flying on this flight,'” Chrisley recounted. While she did admit to calling the staff member an “a**hole”, she did try to explain that she needed to get back home to her 10-year-old niece, whom she has full custody of.
“And well, the Southwest attendant said, ‘I don’t care.’ So Southwest, you’re awful but not going to lie … your pilot was kinda hot,” before stating in a later video: “In case another story comes out, after he told me he didn’t care if I got home to my 10-year-old … I told him that I hope he finds a better purpose for his life. Maybe I shouldn’t have said it, but the devil came over me and Jesus did not come out.”
Chrisley is the legal guardian of both her niece and younger brother, following her parents’ conviction for federal tax fraud. On January 17, Chrisley Knows Best reality show stars Todd, 53, and wife Julie, 50, reported to their individual prison locations for their federal tax fraud case convictions which included wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
Todd was sentenced to 12 years and has reported to Federal Correctional Institution Pensacola in Florida while Julie is currently serving seven years and was sent to Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky.
