At least fifteen people lost their lives in a horrific calamity that struck Manitoba, Canada, on Thursday. A vehicle and a bus carrying elderly passengers collided at a crosswalk at Carberry, 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.
The large group of people was traveling to a casino in Carberry. Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill, the commander of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed that “at least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”
Ten more persons are receiving medical attention from the hospital. The authorities have not determined what caused the crash, despite the fact that both drivers are still alive. Near the tarpaulins covering the remains, wheelchair seats and damaged walking frames were visible in photos taken at the scene.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sent his condolences, saying that his thoughts are with the injured as well as the families of those who have lost loved ones.
Heather Stefanson, the premier of Manitoba, also sent her sympathy.
